I have been sewing for many years.Working with wood for all of the years following Highschool, I had my kids I then decided I needed to do something that would let me keep an eye on the kids and still have fun. I purchased a sewing taught myself how to sew and the rest is history. I try to make all kinds of things and always try to keep the prices of anything I make affordable.

I have made tablerunners for over 6 years and seem to do very well with them. My tablerunners are single sided that way the cost is less. I also think that the tablerunners can be used as dresser runners or shelf runners they even work great as a mantel runner. It is so much fun to have tablerunners for every holiday. Instead of turning the edges under I do a rolled hem that way there is no double thickness on them and there is no chance for the seam to come undone. I use a thread called wooly nylon for the edges it is quite a bit more expensive that a regular thread , but I find it gives the tablerunners a much more polished finish.

Hello, I am writing about this "store" that I am starting on EBay. The name of it is www.thegiftisinthebag.com I came up with this name many years ago when I was selling my handcrafted items at shows. I like to make things that the average person can buy without losing their shirt. I was looking for a name and realized I was making all kinds of bags,I made tote bags ,shopping bags, and what I enjoyed making most of all were drawstring bags.I made them at first to use in place of wrapping paper!! So when I went to a party or where ever it is that you might bring a gift, everybody always knew what gift I brought because www.thegiftisinthebag.com the gift was always in the bag.

After awhile I didn't even need to buy a card because they began to know and love the bags I used to wrap with. Just to let you readers know I wasn't exactually being cheap by not buying a card. There are 58 brothers ,sisters, nieces and nephews just on my side of the family. Them when you get to my husbands side I think that there are 43 family members. So the idea of www.thegiftisinthebag.com was just my little way to be able to not spend $2.00 to $3.50 on a card and to have more money to spend on the gift. If you take the time to add the numbers up it is over 100 people and there are babies still on the way !!

The drawstring bags are great! I use them for everything. When we go on a trip I use them for our shampoo, toothbrushes and paste and things of that nature. In the car they are great for snacks, little toys, pen and paper, for the kids. They each get their own bag and get to put their own "stuff" in it for the trip. That way they have a nice and sturdy bag to put their things in.
